CURVE NEW YORK SHOWCASES FW24 LINGERIE FASHION SHOW
Curve New York, the leading trade show for lingerie, took place at the Javits Center in New York City. This event, organized by Curve, a part of Comexposium, is held twice a year and is a key spot for people in the intimate apparel industry to meet, find new business opportunities, buy upcoming collections, network, and join in exclusive activities.
Over 150 lingerie brands from around the world set up their displays every day during the event. People who came could join in on on-trend seminars, Bra-fitting workshops, fashion shows, check out a special beauty lounge, and much more.
Raphael Camp, CEO of Curve, shared some insights. He mentioned that sports bras and nightwear are currently big hits in the women’s intimate apparel market. He also talked about how shapewear has become popular over the last 20 years, turning into a category of its own with increasing sales worldwide. He highlighted a few well-known shapewear brands like Anita, Leonisa, Wacoal, and Aubade, recently introducing a new line of body-shaping lingerie. Additionally, he was excited to welcome Julia Haart, a star from the reality TV show “My Unorthodox Life,” who launched her +Body by Julia Haart collection at Curve New York. This collection is all about offering affordable options for women of all sizes.
The event also featured a special VIP Cocktail Party and Fashion Show at The Venue at the Hard Rock Hotel New York on February 4th. This invite-only event showcased 15 brands, including Anita, Aubade, Chantelle & Chantelle X, Elomi, Leonisa, Natori, Nette Rose, Noblesse Oblige, Panache, Skarlett Blue, Sculptresse, Simone Pérèle, Rosa Faia, and Wacoal. They presented their Fall 2024 collections, focusing on the latest trends in lingerie and body positivity.
Trend spotters noticed a lot of strappy bodysuits, metallic details, a mix of bright and soft colors, nude basics for every skin tone, and shapewear. Some stunning hand-made lace pieces caught everyone’s eye. The show was packed with the industry’s top buyers, writers, and fashion enthusiasts, all there to celebrate the latest in lingerie fashion at Curve New York.
The event also took a moment to celebrate milestones for two long-standing exhibitors: Simone Perele, marking its 75th anniversary, and Anita, celebrating 125 years. Both brands have been pioneers in the lingerie world, with Simone Perele being known for its innovative French designs and Anita for its diverse range of products from intimates to athleisure wear.
Curve New York was also buzzing with new talent, with 30 brands exhibiting for the first time. Among them were fashion executive and Netflix star Julia Haart, introducing her shapewear line, and Chloé Rogers, bringing a touch of vintage glamour with her brand, Scarlett Gasque.
Additionally, the Lingerie Briefs Salon, now in its third year, showcased 11 brands in a special area of the show floor, celebrating the artistry and innovation in the lingerie industry.
