Curve New York closes show with outstanding success for buyers and intimate apparel brands!

Curve New York closes show with outstanding success for buyers and intimate apparel brands!

Comexposium USA offered their first 2022 in-person Curve New York trade event on Feb 27-March 1. Known in the industry as the premiere intimate apparel & lingerie event, the show came back at the Javits Center, along with the other Fashion trade events – Coterie and Magic. 125+ international intimates’ brands presented their new Fall 2022-2023 collections to 1300+ buyers, of which 10% were new.

Raphael Camp, President of Curve, says: “Our Curve New York show was an incredible success. We have learned the importance, especially in the intimate’s business how much our industry is about relationships and nurturing connections. Being able to network & exchange information, along with the ability to see product on models is invaluable.”
Here is what they have to say about this past edition of Curve NYC:

‘We were so excited to book our travel for our team to attend Curve 22. It totally didn't disappoint! Being able to see the story of a season in lingerie was magical.  We appreciate the networking and relationship building that this show cultivates. At the Cosabella x Curve dinner party, I had the opportunity to meet with another store owners and learn about new inventory processes for my stores. Thank you, Curve Team! You brought back three days that make my next year more organized. See you in August! ‘, says Lee Padgett, Busted Bra Shop owner and recipient of the 2022 Curve Outstanding Achievement & Growth Award.

“It was great to be back at the NY show this past week. To be able to see everyone in person and to have Curve provide us a platform to get back to normal business was fantastic. There was a buzz of optimism for our industry and business”, says Russ Klein, President of Easton International, US distributor of European intimates’ brands and recipient of the 2022 Curve Leadership Excellence Award.

“At Curve, the hidden dimensions of nature came alive on the show floor. Several collections tapped into the exuberant beauty of the natural world, intertwining the industry’s push towards sustainability and a renewed interest in botanical designs. Stunning embroideries and floral appliqués adorned everything from bralettes to bodysuits, while color palettes focused on rich earthy colors and vibrant jewel tones. These organic inspirations infuse a new energy into the new season, while encouraging a deeper connection with our environment“, says Patricia Maeda, Director of Women's and Intimates at Fashion Snoops.

“Glamorous seductive collections come through for Autumn/Winter, showing a shift from comfy dressing to more classic, boudoir looks. Also, lace and sheer fabrics looked strong. And everyone was talking about the Aubade x Iris Van Herpen collaboration”, says Jo Lynch, Lingerie Editor at WGSN.

The entire intimate apparel industry including sleepware, added $4.8 billion in the last two years. That is an amazing growth for an industry that is generally considered a mature one. “, says Todd Mick of the NPD Group.

New at Curve New York was The Lingerie Briefs Salon, an area specifically dedicated to the rising stars of intimate apparel curated by Ellen Lewis of Lingerie Briefs & Alison Connolly, formerly of Faire Frou Frou. The Salon was a highlight upcoming designers including the winner of the 2021 Underfashion Club design contest, and incredible new brands. "This exhibition was able to give us more - faith in people, the strength of business relations, and goodness. During these three days, we rreceived a lot of messages and comments from colleagues from the US and Europe, and all these were words of support and understanding. Our business, like thousands of business in Ukraine and Russia, is now in a very difficult situation...participation in Curve and Salon has become a huge motivation for us."
says Maria, Love and Swans Manager

“The Salon was a huge success. I heard excellent feedback, even from other brands who had booths on the floor. Besides specialty store buyers, there were teams from Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, HerRoom and Victoria Secret to name a few. Major trend services and bloggers also came by including WGSN, Fashion Snoops and more”, says Ellen Lewis, founder of Lingerie Briefs.

The Boudoir was also another highlight of Curve NYC.
